Plans for 2014 season

Postby jewel942 » Wed Nov 27, 2013 3:33 pm

What's everyone planning for next season?

Cooperstown, Baseball Youth Nationals, new PG / CABA series, Disney, TBS?

Tired of Disney, we're pursuing TBS and East Cobb this year. If we get there, should be a more pure baseball experience, as opposed to the circus atmosphere in Kissimmee.

We'll be looking for more diverse tournament experiences (Triple Crown, Wolves, etc.) and much less Utrip - which means less events but more travel.

Now at 14U our team will focus a bit more on exposure - with Perfect Game and other non USSSA events that attract top talent and those interested in finding talent :) Though we'll still play plenty of USSSA especially in the early season, before our HS aged kids return.

Son's team is planning on primarily USSSA tournament schedule kicking off right after HS season ends Memorial Weekend.

Good luck to everyone this season. Looking forward to seeing some good baseball!

Brandon...I just looked at U-trip and you're registered for almost everywhere we'll be from Memorial Day on so that should answer your question for us...see you out there and GL to CP this HS season.

If what happened at practice the other day is any indication I think we will. Got hit once right in the melon BEHIND the screen, a couple more near misses, and SEVERAL rocket shots to the left and right of the screen. I've been nervous behind screens before for some kids but now at 14u it seems like they are ALL raking it and the screen just doesn't give the comfort it used to when they were little. Our other AC got hit in the shoulder the week prior.

If you see me in a helmet at 1b this summer don't be surprised!!

Coach Bob - I'll look for you wearing that helmet at 1B as I'm comfortably behind a fence watching the game. :) I'm glad i'm not throwing BP to these kids anymore!

I've actually seriously considered it!! (note to self; google coach helmets) And I won't mention him by name but there's a certain Caesar's player now on our roster that I thought was going to rip a few right through the screens at The Cage this winter. Kid was always scary but being that close to getting grilled by one of his shots and he's going to get stronger too.
